We are offering our workshops at technical education centers around Vermont. Please check this list to find the skillshop offering nearest you. Each skillshop can accommodate 15-20 participants. Please note that some skillshops are Full Day events, while others are Half Day events.

Topics Covered

The skillshop covers several topics:

Weatherization Skillshop participant learns how to correctly apply door weatheristripping.

  • Attic Air-Sealing & Insulation: Techniques for sealing air leaks and insulating in the attic. Tools used: caulk guns, foam guns, shears, measuring tape, knife, insulation machine. Materials used: caulk, single-part spray foam, attic hatches, flashing, cellulose insulation, other insulation techniques.
  • Windows & Doors: Techniques for finding air leaks and sealing drafty windows and doors. Tools used: caulking guns, screw drivers, hack saw, measuring tape, knife. Materials used: caulk, weatherstripping, door sweeps, sash locks, window sealing kits.
  • Basement Air-Sealing & Insulation: Techniques for finding air leaks and moisture issues in basements,insulating sills and sealing ducts. Tools used: caulking guns, screw drivers, hack saw, measuring tape, knife. Materials used: caulk, single-part spray foam, rigid foam insulation, other insulation techniques.
